Hyderabad: The Telangana government on Friday released a list of 64 hospitals in the state against whom they have issued 88 show cause notices. These relate to excess and inappropriate billing, drugs-related grievances, and failure to provide patients' information.

A majority of 39 complaints were received under the GHMC limits, 22 from Medchal Malkajgiri and 15 from Rangareddy. Show cause notices had been served to these hospitals with a deadline of 24 to 48 hours for submitting their explanation relating to the complaints.

The highest number of show cause notices was issued to Omni Hospital in Kukatpally followed by five against VINN Hospital in Begumpet, three against TX Hospital in Kachiguda. Two show cause notices have been issued against 11 hospitals in the state.
