HYDERABAD: Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy on Wednesday announced that the state government will implement a single-window system to streamline all permissions required for film shootings and production.
Speaking at the Telangana Gaddar Film Awards held at the HITEX Exhibition Centre, the Chief Minister stated that the government aims to transform Hyderabad into a 'Global Cine Hub', replicating its success in the IT and Pharma sectors.
Renamed after the legendary folk singer and activist Gaddar, the awards replaced the previous Nandi Awards. The Chief Minister noted that the government considered it a responsibility to restore the tradition of honoring cinematic excellence.
Cine Hub
During his address, CM Revanth Reddy emphasized that cinema should be recognized as a major industry.
"Just as we have made Hyderabad a hub for IT and Pharma, we want to make it a global destination for cinema. With global giants like Netflix establishing a base here, Hollywood has effectively reached Hyderabad. We will soon create a dedicated platform for international and Pan-Indian film productions to get clearances under one roof," Revanth Reddy said.
He further invited Hollywood filmmakers to consider Hyderabad for their projects, assuring them of high-level security for their investments and world-class infrastructure.
Four pillars of the industry
The Chief Minister paid tribute to industry stalwarts like NTR, Akkineni Nageswara Rao, D. Ramanaidu, and Krishna, describing them as the 'four pillars' who successfully shifted the industry from Chennai to Hyderabad. He also lauded the contributions of Dasari Narayana Rao for his leadership during crises and Ramoji Rao for establishing the Ramoji Film City.
