Hyderabad: Telangana government has declared a holiday for all government offices, schools, and colleges on September 17 on the occasion of Ganesh idol immersion.
As per the GO issued on Saturday, it is a holiday for the government offices/schools/colleges located in and around the twin cities of Hyderabad and Secunderabad, Ranga Reddy, and Medchal - Malkajgiri districts of Telangana State on account of the Ganesh idols immersion procession.
Further, the Telangana police have announced, āNo idol immersion at Tank Bundā.
Consequently, November 9 (Second Saturday) shall be observed as a working day for all the Government Offices/Schools/Colleges in Telangana.
Ganesh immersion in Hyderabad particularly is one of the most awaited and biggest days for everyone. Of all the idol immersions, Khairatabad Ganesh immersion is the most watched.
The Hyderabad police have made all necessary arrangements for the immersion, and a total of 18,000 police personnel will be deployed for the immersion duties.
Special arrangements include setting up 22 platforms and 33 cranes for idol immersion at Tank Bund and NTR Marg. Additionally, 100 statical cranes and 150 mobile cranes will be available across the GHMC area.
Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) has made comprehensive arrangements for the smooth and eco-friendly immersion of Ganesh idols across the city. As part of these efforts, the GHMC has set up 73 portable immersion ponds of various sizes in different zones of Hyderabad.
Hyderabad traffic police have also issued a travel advisory for the following routes given Ganesh Visarjan and related processions near Necklace Road (P.V.N. Marg) from Tuesday, September 10, to Monday, September 16. Traffic diversions will be in effect from 3 p.m. until midnight, depending on traffic conditions during the week.
