Governor stated that there is misinformation regarding acceptance of resignation as there has not been any delay on their part.

Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan accepts TSPSC chairman and members resignations, paves way for jobs

Hyderabad: Governor of Telangana Dr Tamilisai Soundararajan accepted the resignations of Telangana State Public Service Commission (TSPSC) chairman Dr B Janardhan Reddy and three members R Satyanarayana, Prof. Bandi Linga Reddy, and Karam Ravinder Reddy on January 9th 2024.

No delay

In a detailed press note, Governor stated that there is misinformation regarding acceptance of resignation as there has not been any delay on their part.

The resignations were received by the Governor in December and as per Business Rules forwarded them to the State Government for circulation of file, along with the remarks and the opinion of the Advocate General. This was done through the office of the Chief Minister Revanth Reddy after thorough examination of the matter.

The investigation by Special Investigation Team played a crucial role in the decision-making process. The report of SIT was reviewed by the state government and advice of Advocate General sought after which the file was again forwarded to the Governor through the office of Chief minister. The file was returned to the Governor on January 8th and within a day the entire process of acceptance of resignations was completed. The office of the Governor stated that utmost diligence and adherence to legal procedures have been followed during the acceptance process.

Accepted resignations

All the four resignations have been accepted on January 9th, 2024. The press note from Governor states that the resignations have been accepted without prejudice to the ongoing investigations and potential future criminal proceedings on January 10th.

Safeguard interests of youth

The Raj Bhavan assures all people of the State in general and the unemployed youth in particular that every precaution has been taken to safeguard the interests of the unemployed youth in this process. Governor remains committed to upholding the mandates of Constitution, principles of justice, transparency, and accountability, and this decision reflects the responsible handling of a matter that involves ongoing investigations.

Congress party thanks Governor

The acceptance of resignation of TSPSC members has elated the youth and the Congress party members thanked Governor for the same. The Congress party has assured the people of Telangana that 2 lakh job vacancies will be filled. The job calendar will be released. The party has completed 100 days and appointing members for TSPSC is important for the recruitment process. With the resignations accepted, the process will now start and they are hopeful that the ‘jobs promised’ in the manifesto will be provided.
