‘Gulabi sarkar banao’: In Nanded, KCR issues clarion call for ‘kisan sarkar’

Hyderabad: Calling for the farmers to unite, Telangana Chief Minister and Bharat Rashtra Samithi president K. Chandrashekar Rao called for a government that understands the problems of farmers and can work towards resolving them. “Gulabi sarkar banao, jagmagata Hindustan, kisan ki sarkar bano. Ab ki baar, kisan sarkar,” KCR said in Nanded, Maharashtra.

Chalking out his plans for expansion in Maharashtra, KCR made it clear that BRS will work on the ground level with farmers by identifying their problems and discussing ways and means to resolve them. The model which has been used for the development of Telangana will also be implemented in Maharashtra to ensure that the problems of farmers are resolved and they are able to get their deserved livelihood, he said.

Giving example of the farmer-led schemes in Telangana, KCR pointed out that it can also be launched in Maharasthra and India. “It is possible as we have good natural resources, manpower, and also wealth in our lands. The earlier governments—54 years of the Congress party and 16 years of the Bharatiya Janta Party—have not worked towards the upliftment of farmers. To work for ourselves, it is important that the party of farmers who understands and has the ability to resolve their problems takes it up.”

He asked all farmers’ unions and those listening to his speech to go back and understand why there has not been a solution to their problems.

KCR said, “I don’t want to call anyone names but I want to tell that Bharat budhuo ka desh nahi hai. Election aata hai, neta jita hai aur janta harti hai. Is bar janta ko jitna hai.”

‘You become a leader and lead others’

Explaining his plan to expand in Maharashtra, the BRS party asked people from the ground level to come and lead. KCR said, “There is no leader that you must follow. You become a leader and lead others. Balka Suman, former member of Parliament and present member of Legislative Assembly, joined the Telangana movement. He was a student at that time and worked hard and is now a leader of our party. We want such leaders to come up and lead.”

KCR appealed to all the members to come forward if they want change in their lives. “We have been divided on the grounds of caste, class, and social welfare. It is high time that we stop getting emotional on the grounds of religion, caste, and creed and look at our problems in hand and work towards solving them. If the existing parties cannot solve it, we must form a government that understands the problems of farmers and can work towards resolving them,” he said.
