Guns to music: In a first, ASR police host party for surrendered Maoists

For the first time, ASR district police hosted a Varadhi get-together for 140 surrendered and arrested Maoists on Sunday.

Hosted by ASR police chief Satish Kumar, those who participated in the get-together include Sudhir, Mahita, Hari, Srikanth, Ashok, and a few others in Paderu. They all belong to Naxal-infested areas including Kondrum, Balapam, Galikonda, and a few other places.

The program is aimed to interact with surrendered cadres and extend all possible assistance for their welfare.

Magic shows, Musical shows sumptuous lunch were lined up for the surrendered cadre. Superintendent of Police, ASR, Satish Kumar gifted them with stainless steel utensils. Volleyball and cricket kits were also handed over to the village youth.

Satish Kumar assured them of assistance in getting their children admitted to schools. He also promised to start skill development courses for landing jobs under the Prerana program. He also informed them about DBT schemes. He also promised help getting them Aadhar cards and all necessary certificates in coordination with other departments.

He motivated the gathering to lead the development revolution in their villages in Education, Health, and Employment. He appreciated the surrendered cadre who joined their children and siblings in schools and other police-supported job courses
