The state government said it has ensured that these women live distinguished lives as some of them have completed degrees while serving their life sentence while others have learned tailoring, embroidery, baking, and other skills.
The state has placed certain conditions to ensure that they do not commit wrongdoings again once they are released. It has stipulated that all premature releases are subject to execution of a personal bond of Rs. 50,000 and the female prisoner appear before the probation officer and police station concerned once in three months till the completion of the unexpired portion of their sentence.
The female prisoners can be re-arrested and their remission cancelled if they commit any criminal offence after their release.
