High court allows T Congress to hold Dharna at Dharna Chowk

Hyderabad: Justice Vijaysen Reddy of Telangana High Court has directed the Commissioner of Police, Hyderabad to grant permission to Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) represented by Mr B. Ashok Kumar Goud, its Working President to conduct a Dharna at Dharna Chowk, Indira Park, Hyderabad to ventilate the grievances of Sarpanches in TS.

A fresh representation by the petitioner by giving an undertaking that he shall take responsibility to see that participants will not be more than 300.

The date and time of the Dharna and follow Covid - 19 precautions and other conditions if any imposed by the police authorities, stated the court.

However, the court gave liberty to Police Authorities to take action if any violation takes place.

The court was dealing the Writ Petition filed by petitioner seeking to suspend the order passed by DCP Central Zone, Hyderabad on 01.01.2023 rejecting the application for conducting Dharna at Dharna Chowk, Indira Park, Hyderabad.

The court heard the petition in a Lunch Motion.

Mr Roopender, general prosecutor, Home appeared for the Police.
