CM Revanth, Sridhar Babu to start second global tour in August, aim for  investments

Hyderabad: Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy, along with IT minister Sridhar Babu and other Cabinet ministers, will embark on a second round of international tour for investments in Telangana from August 3 to 11.

The first visit was made to Davos in Switzerland and the United Kingdom in January 2024 after Revanth Reddy became the chief minister.

Second trip starts in Seoul

The second international visit itinerary has Seoul in South Korea and USA cities New Jersey, New York and Dallas.

Apart from Information Technology, investments are planned for developments in electric vehicles, life sciences and healthcare in Telangana.

Artificial Intelligence is also on the list of priorities of the Telangana government, a source explained. A global AI summit will be organised by the Telangana government in September and maximum resources are being polled for that venture.

Political impact at home from international trips

Politically, there is a lot of discussion as to how CM Revanth Reddy is leading the delegations and its impact on the political atmosphere in the State.

Political pundits question whether there is a comparison being made between the workings of former Bharat Rashtra Samithi IT minister KT Rama Rao and the trips by the Congress.

A source said, “The presence of the chief minister of the State enhances the confidence of the investors and shows them the party’s dedication to progress. It also becomes easy to make immediate decisions.”

‘International trips to bring Telangana out of financial crisis’

There are rumours that there is also an attempt to show that not only BRS but also Congress can get investments.

A source said, “It’s a political propaganda. There is no question of competing with KTR or the previous BRS government. The Congress government has a clear idea of the economic situation of the State and the attempt is to bring the State out of the financial crisis.”

“At the same time, we have promised employment in our election manifesto. We need new companies and the establishment of businesses to generate jobs for the unemployed youth,” explained a senior Congress leader.

Growth for all sectors

The focus will be to bring investments for the new and developing sectors in the State.

A source explained, “Based on the sectors to be covered, a decision will be taken. The team will compromise ministers and officials apart from the entourage of CM Revanth Reddy.”
