Sureedu: How former Addl PS of YSR along with Telangana, Andhra cops tortured son-in-law in 'fake' case

Hyderabad: Police have registered FIR against four persons including two cops from Jubilee Hills and one officer from Andhra Pradesh for registering a fake case against a medical practitioner of Kadapa.
The FIR was registered after the complainant approached the court of Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate, Hyderabad.
Banjara Hills police later registered an FIR against (Sureedu) Erram Reddy Surya Narayana Reddy who served as personal sectary to former CM YS Rajasekhar Reddy; former Inspector of police in Jubilee Hills Rajasekhar Reddy, now promoted as ACP; former Jubilee Hills SI Ch Naresh, now working as SI in Panjagutta PS, and Inspector of General Guntur district G Pala Raju.
Though he served as an additional Personal Secretary to former Chief Minister Dr YS Raja Shekar Reddy, the FIR stated that he belonged to IAS cadre. However, he was not a government officer until he was appointed as an additional Personal Secretary by then Chief Minister.
On September 19, the victim Pothi Reddy Surendranath Reddy, a medical practitioner and a resident of Kadapa in Andhra Pradesh, filed a complaint in the court against his father-in-law Surya Narayana Reddy.
After the helicopter accident that took Rajashekar Reddy's life, Reddy resigned from his position. He gained significant influence during his association with the government.
According to the complainant, after marriage and bright of a girl, he faced minor issues and harassment from Pala Raju. He said his father-in-law conspired to file false cases against him. It created friction between him and his wife which ultimately led to separation. A case was filed against him under the Domestic Violence Act (DVC).
"Though I considered filing for the custody of my child through legal means, I decided against it because I did not want my young daughter to suffer. On March 23, 2021, at around 7:30 pm, I went to my in-law's house after playing cricket as part of my routine to see my daughter. Unexpectedly, they attacked me. They also called the police. I visited the Jubilee Hills police station accompanied by the police," said the complainant in the FIR.
False case
While the victim lodged a complaint against his father-in-law, SI Naresh falsely registered a case against him. The cops also manipulated CCTV footage.
The complainant alleged that his father-in-law conspired with the other accused, intending to restrain and potentially harm him. He said they hatched a plan in the police station. To execute their hatched plan, he said, police officer Rajasekhar influenced someone to steal his bike from his residence, and falsely claimed that it had been recovered from his father-in-law's residence.
"These actions suggest deliberate efforts made to manipulate the situation, raising concerns about his motives and the fairness of his actions,ā said the complainant.
The victim was severely beaten up in the lockup. He was later taken to Osmania General Hospital to obtain a medical fitness certificate, where the doctors recognized the severity of his condition. They pressed to get him admitted to the hospital. However, Inspector Rajasekhar intervened and instructed the doctor to issue a fitness certificate and discharge him immediately.
According to the complainant, he lodged a complaint against his father-in-law for filing a false complaint which was eventually closed by showing a reason as 'lack of evidence' when he refused to pay Rs.1 Lakh to as a bribe. He also reported this bribery attempt to the Commissioner of Police and the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB).
Due to repeatedly beating with lathies all over the joints of my legs and hands, the victim received grievous injuries and was unable to walk properly for several months.
CCTV obtained
The victim obtained the CCTV footage from the XVII Court under the Right to Information (RTI) Act, and it was revealed that the investigating officer only produced CCTV camera footage that showed the victim entering their house.
The victim has stated that the Inspector took photographs of him while he was in custody at the police station and deliberately circulated them through social media and TV. channels.
