Hyderabad: Actor-turned-politician Vijaya Shanthi quits BJP; set to join Congress, demands LS ticket
Shanthi has been contemplating her resignation for the last six months but senior leaders in the BJP persuaded her to stay back. She has now decided to go back to Congress

Hyderabad: Shanthi has a history of swapping political parties. She joined BJP in 1997 but quit to join Telangana Rashtra Samithi in 2009. She quit TRS to join Congress in 2014. Later she quit Congress and rejoined BJP.
She is set to join the Congress party again on November 17 in the presence of Rahul Gandhi.

Discussions on Medak LS seat
Vijaya Shanthi is seeking a Lok Sabha ticket from Medak. Shanthi had earlier contested Assembly elections from Medak but lost. After that, she resigned from the Congress and joined BJP.
Parachute leaders
Congress party workers and cadre have at various levels resisted parachute leaders. While some have left, many are strongly voicing their anger to party leaders in Telangana and Delhi. Leaders say that they are being sidelined. While Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee president Revanth Reddy said all the party workers will be duly rewarded for the hard work of the last 10 years, some of them are not satisfied with the assurance.
Medak constituency
Medak assembly seat has been allotted to Mynampally Rohit Rao. There is a neck-to-neck fight in the constituency. The results will only determine who will get the ticket for Lok Sabha.
