Hyderabad: Dhanwantari Foundation booked for cheating 4,000 people of Rs 514 crores; 30 accounts frozen

Hyderabad: A case was registered at CCS, Hyderabad against Dhanwantari Foundation International Trust for cheating 4,000 victims of Rs 514 crores in the name of high returns on investments.

The investigation identified properties and froze 30 bank accounts.

According to case details, Dhanwantari Foundation International Trust, represented by its director Dr P Kamalakar Sharma and others, have been accused of luring innocent senior citizens/victims majorly from the Brahmin community by assuring high profits on their deposits/investments within a specific period. They managed to collect about Rs 514 crores from them and cheated around 4,000 victims.

As per the Investigating officer, the cops so far have identified properties acquired by DFI and its companies as DFI Hospital at Amberpet; in Ankapalli, Vizag; in Gannavaram, Vijayawada; in Siddipet and in Midjil of nearly about 450 acres and also commercial space about 3,000 sq yards in the heart of the Hyderabad city and succeeded in obtaining GOs in four properties and filed affidavits before the MSJ Court for absolute orders.

For the remaining two properties, the process is in progress with the government.

So far around 30 bank accounts of DFI and floated companies have been frozen. A forensic audit has also been conducted. The DCP, DD has assured the victims that the investigation officer and herself are available to provide any victim any information in the case.
