Telangana: BRS MLA's wear stickers saying 'Adani Revanth Bhai Bhai’ emulating Congress leader Rahul Gandhi's Parliament protests of 'Modi Adani Ek Hai'

Hyderabad: Taking a leaf out of Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s protest in Parliament, Bharat Rashtra Samithi today took on the Congress government on the Adani issue on the first day of Assembly session.

Wearing white T-shirts and stickers inscribed with 'Adani Revanth Bhai Bhai’, BRS members came to the Assembly to make their presence felt. However, they were detained and not allowed to enter the Assembly with the stickers on.

Parliament protests

In the Parliament session, Rahul Gandhi along with leaders of Congress and the INDIA bloc wore stickers on the back that read ‘Modi Adani Ek Hai, Adani Safe Hai’.

Outside Telangana Assembly

Police detained the protesting BRS MLAs and prevented them from entering the Assembly.

BRS MLAs said that they would expose the Adani-Revanth affair.

Adani row in Telangana

On October 19, 2024, Adani Foundation donated Rs 100 crore to the Telangana Skill University. Chief Minister Revanth Reddy accepted the donation and also tweeted a photo with Gautam Adani from the official handle.

This gave the opposition BRS a chance to attack CM Revanth Reddy. They also accused the Congress of ‘double talks’.

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi was reportedly not happy with Chief Minister Revanth Reddy for accepting the money, sources said.

Rs 100 crore returned

On November 25, the Congress party and the Chief Minister's office issued a statement saying that the money of the Adani Foundation is being returned following the corruption charges in the United States.

In a statement, CM Reddy said, “The Telangana government has written to Adani Group that they will not accept the RS 100 crores donated to them for skill university.”

Congress leaders in Telangana also supported the CM.

Parliament protests continues

Meanwhile, in New Delhi, the INDIA bloc protested against Adani in the Parliament complex.

The Opposition has been protesting since the first day, 25th November. The Parliament session is to conclude on December 20th. Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi, and other leaders are raising slogans and also wearing stickers of “Modi Adani Ek Hai and we want justice.”

Two MPs wore masks of PM Narendra Modi and Gautam Adani. Rahul Gandhi tried to pull off a spectacle by interviewing them outside the Parliament premises, asking them how long they had been together.

For one of his questions, the make-believe Gautam Adani says, “Aaj kal thoda tension hai.” The Opposition leaders also carried A4-size pictures of Gautam Adani, cut-outs of PM Narendra Modi and protested.
