Hyderabad: A suspect Bathula Prabhakar, allegedly linked to a notorious gang, fired bullets at a cop and bouncer at Prism Pub located at Gachibowli on Saturday evening. The chas created a rukcus at the pub.

Based on intelligence inputs, Cyberabad Cop Venkat Reddy, a constable by designation inspected the Prism Pub. Upon knowing the presence of the cop, suspect Bathula Prabhakar alias Rahul Reddy opened fire at him. A bouncer was also injured in the incident, sources said.



According to the crime history, in 2020 Vizag cops arrested a notorious gang of burglars involved in 58 crimes across the state. One of them arrested was Bathula Prabhakar. The gang is known for breaking into houses and stealing valuables.

Who is Bathula Prabhakar?

In 2020, The Vizag police busted a notorious gang of burglars who reportedly committed over 58 offenses in four districts of north Andhra Pradesh. The police arrested three persons and recovered items worth Rs. 29.95 lakh from them. The gang had robbed houses in Vizag city, Vizag rural, Vizianagaram, and West Godavari, the police said. The arrested persons were Bathula Prabhakar alias Rahul Reddy (24) of West Godavari district, Pedapati Naveen (21) of Vizag city, and Kuppa Taviti Raju (28) of Vizianagaram. Raju used to receive the stolen items from Prabhakar and Naveen. The police recovered over 1,240 gms of ornaments worth Rs. 27.18 lakh, over 1,700 gms of silver ornaments worth Rs. 1 lakh, and over Rs. 1.69 lakh in cash.
