Hyderabad: A six-lane, two-way flyover is being completed at Shaikpet along the Intermediate Ring Road from Rethibowli to Gachibowli, considering the heavy traffic on that route. With almost 93% of work completed, the flyover is expected to be completed by 30 December 2021.
The construction work has been going on since April 2018.
The flyover spread over 2.8 km and a width of 24-meters will be the second longest flyover after PVNR Expressway. The flyover stretching from the 7 Tombs junction to Whisper Valley junction will also cross the Film Nagar and OU Colony junctions.
The project, carried out by Venkat Rao Infrastructure Private Limited, is being undertaken at a cost of Rs. 333.55 crores.
The road from Rethibowli to Gachibowli also sees traffic from the core area to the IT hub, Hi-tech City, and the financial district. It has been observed that a lot of time and fuel is being wasted during peak hours. The present proposal is expected to give relief to traffic on this route.
