Hyderabad techie among 4 caught peddling drugs; 204 gms MDMA seized
The main accused, Jatin Bhalchandra Bhalerao (36), an insurance agent from Mumbai, is absconding.
By Newsmeter Network Published on 14 Feb 2023 11:24 AM GMTHyderabad: A 34-year-old software engineer from Hyderabad and a 44-year-old restaurant owner from Kondapur were among four people who were arrested by the Hyderabad Narcotic Enforcement Wing (H-NEW) and the Gopalapuram police for selling drugs. Also, 204 grams of MDMA were seized from the four arrested persons.
The techie has been identified as Sana Khan of Hyderabad and the other accused from the city is Harsh Mahajan. Sana was caught with 15 grams of MDMA while Harsh was carrying 11 grams. The other accused are Javed Shamshair Ali Siddique (34) and Junaid Shaik Shamshuddin (28) from Mumbai.
The main accused, Jatin Bhalchandra Bhalerao (36), an insurance agent from Mumbai, is absconding. Emmanul Osondu (34), a Nigerian national, was arrested earlier by the Bahadurpura police and five grams of cocaine seized from him while another gang member, Vikas Mohan Kodmur (33), a drug supplier from Maharashtra, was arrested by the Mumbai police.
"Jatin Bhalchandra Bhalerao used to buy MDMA from Javed Shamshair Ali Siddique for Rs. 1,500 per gram. Later, Jatin would sell the same for a higher price, Rs. 3,000 per gram, to needy customers and for Rs. 2,000 per gram to other peddlers like Sana Khan and Harsh Mahajan who used to visit Mumbai to purchase drugs." said Hyderabad police commissioner CV Anand.
Subsequently, Sana, and Harsh Mahajan used to sell the drug to consumers in Hyderabad at a Rs. 7,000 per gram. Jatin also procured cocaine from Emmanuel Osondu who was earlier arrested by the Bahadurpur police.
"Meanwhile, Javed Shamshair Ali Siddique used to procure MDMA drug in bulk from Vikas Mohan Kodmur and his brother Dinesh Mohan Kodmur who was arrested by the Mumbai police. He then used to sell those drugs to other drug peddlers and some consumers in Mumbai. Both the brothers Vikas and Dinesh Mohan Kodmur procured MDMA drug from one local person from Mumbai in bulk quantity. For transporting the drug, Javed paid Junaid Shaik Shamshuddin Rs. 50,000 per delivery. The brothers were arrested by the Mumbai police", CV Anand added.
The police found that about 81 consumers were purchasing MDMA from Jatin and 30 from Javed.
On credible information, the team arrested the four persons on 14 February and recovered from them 204 grams of MDMA, four mobile phones, and a four-wheelerāall worth Rs. 20 lakhs.
