Hyderabad: Police remand of Immadhi Ravi, the alleged mastermind and administrator behind the iBomma movie piracy platform, ended on Monday.

Investigators said that he earned crores through large-scale digital piracy and built an extensive network to operate the illegal platform.

Global network and Revenue trail detected

According to police officials, Ravi established hundreds of agents across India and overseas to distribute pirated content. The investigation indicates the use of foreign servers and offshore payment channels to conceal transactions and evade enforcement.

Preliminary financial tracking suggests that the accused generated significant revenue running into crores by illegally circulating copyrighted films.

Accused evades key questions

Officials stated that during interrogation, Ravi has been providing inconsistent and evasive responses, slowing down the investigation. On the fourth day of custody, despite being shown evidence, he reportedly attempted to mislead the questioning officers.

He is said to have avoided replying to queries related to foreign servers, UK-based hosting links, and Caribbean digital operations, all believed to be connected to the Ibomma backend infrastructure.

Data wiped before arrest

Police have begun analysing a domain tied to ER Infotech, the entity under which Ravi allegedly purchased digital assets used for the piracy platform. Investigators discovered that the accused had deleted crucial data, including phone records and hard disk content, before his arrest.

Cyber forensic teams are now working to recover the erased information, which officials believe may establish the full scale of the piracy network.

Court appearance likely this evening

With the interrogation period ending, police are expected to produce Ravi before the court later today, where the prosecution may seek further orders based on the investigation progress.
