IMD issues heatwave warning for TS; max temp to be 41-45°Celsius
According to its forecast, heatwave conditions are likely to prevail at isolated places in Adilabad, Komaram Bheem Asifabad, Mancherial, Nirmal, Nizamabad, and Jagtial on those two days
By Newsmeter Network Published on 31 March 2022 1:58 PM GMTHyderabad: The Meteorological Centre, Hyderabad, in its weather forecast on Thursday for the next five days said maximum temperatures are expected to be in the range of 41-45°Celsius in most of the districts in the state.
The maximum temperatures will remain between 41 and 45°Celsius for most of the districts on 1 and 2 April. In the successive days, fewer districts are expected to experience maximum temperatures between 41 and 45°Celsius.
IMD Hyderabad has also warned of heatwave conditions on 1 and 2 April in the state. According to its forecast, heatwave conditions are likely to prevail at isolated places in Adilabad, Komaram Bheem Asifabad, Mancherial, Nirmal, Nizamabad, and Jagtial on those two days.
However, according to the Telangana State Development Planning Society's (TSDPS) forecast for the next three days, maximum temperatures are expected to be in the range of 39 to 42°Celsius in many districts in the state. In the GHMC area, maximum temperatures are expected to be between 38 and 40°Celsius in the next three days.
Meanwhile, according to TSDPS, Chaprala in Adilabad recorded the state's highest maximum temperature of 43.8°Celsius from 8:30 a.m to 4:30 p.m on 31 March. During the same period, in the GHMC area, Allapur Vivekananda Nagar in Medchal Malkajgiri recorded the highest maximum temperature of 40.9°Celsius. In Hyderabad, Gowliwada in Jumerath Bazar in Nampally recorded the city's highest maximum temperature of 40.5°Celsius.
From 8:30 a.m on 30 March to 8:30 a.m on 31 March, several places across the state saw temperatures above 43°Celsius. Kerameri and Chaprala in Adilabad recorded 43. 8°Celsius; Adilabad Urban (near GS Estate) and Wankidi in Kumaram Bheem recorded 43.7°Celsius; Adilabad Collectorate and Jainad in Adilabad recorded 43.6°Celsius; Kouthala in Kumaram Bheem, Bhoig in Adilabad, and Lingapur in Nirmal recorded 43.3°Celsius; and Maddutla in Jagtial recorded 43.2°Celsius.
Meanwhile, Sirpur (Urban) in Kumaram Bheem recorded the state's lowest minimum temperature of 17°Celsius.
