IMD issues yellow alert for Telangana; rains to lash state for next 24 hrs
The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) issued a yellow alert for Telangana on Friday and predicted rainfall for Telangana for the next 24 hours.

It predicted heavy rain in the districts of Khammam, Nalgonda, Suryapet, Yadadri Bhuvangiri, Rangareddy, Mahabubnagar, Nagarkurnool, Wanaparthy, Narayanpet, and Jogulamba Gadwal. It further said that thunderstorms accompanied by lightning are very likely to occur at isolated places in a few districts of Telangana.
According to the Telangana State Development Planning Society, the state's highest rainfall, 21.2 mm, was recorded at Lingalaghanpur in Jangaon district. The state average cumulative rainfall from 1 June 2021 to 19 November 2021 is 1,091.7 mm against the normal 838.7 mm with a deviation of 30%.
The lowest temperature in Telangana - 19.0Ā°C - was recorded at Lokari K in the Adilabad district. Minimum temperatures are expected to be in the range of 20-23Ā°C while the maximum temperatures will be in the range of 30-33Ā°C.
In the GHMC area, the highest rainfall of 2.6 mm was recorded at Bandlaguda while the lowest temperature of 20.3Ā°C was recorded at the University of Hyderabad. The GHMC average cumulative rainfall from 1 June 2021 to 19 November 2021 is 864.4 mm against the normal 709.8 mm with a deviation of 22%.
Minimum temperatures in the GHMC area are expected to be in the range of 21-23Ā°C while the maximum temperatures will be in the range of 30-32Ā°C.
