In Rs 1,000 crore club: BJP MP candidate Konda Vishweshwar and TDP’s Pemmasani Chandrasekhar

Hyderabad: Konda Vishweshwar Reddy and Pemmasani Chandrasekhar from the Telugu-speaking states have assets of more than Rs 1,000 crores and are probably the richest MP candidates in the country.

Vishweshwar Reddy is contesting on behalf of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) from Chevella Parliamentary constituency, while Chandrasekhar is contesting from TDP Guntur Lok Sabha seat. Vishweshwar Reddy on Monday filed his nomination for the upcoming elections.

Vishweshwar Reddy’s financials

Vishweshwar Reddy’s election affidavit shows his properties including movable and immovable assets worth more than Rs 4,568 crore. A majority of his assets, along with those of his spouse Sangeeta Reddy, are movable and include stock in businesses like Apollo Hospital Enterprises Limited, PCR Investments, Citadel Research, Saffron Solutions, and others.

The poll affidavit showed that the net worth of Vishweshwar Reddy is roughly Rs 1,240 crores, while his son is worth around Rs 108 crores and his wife’s net worth is Rs 3,208 crores. The diamond and gold assets of the couple are valued at Rs 11 crores. Reddy also possesses agricultural lands in Chevella, Rajendranagar, and Chittoor, as well as two villas on Aparna Elixir Puppalaguda.

Interestingly, Vishweshwar Reddy doesn’t own a car. Four criminal cases are pending against Reddy which involve forgery, cheating, criminal conspiracy to commit an offence, tampering or manipulating computer system, disobedience to order duly promulgated by a public servant and bribery in elections.

Pemmasani’s financials

As per EC data, Pemmasani’s income is Rs 3.68 lakhs in 2022-23 and his spouse Koneru Sriratna’s income is Rs 1.47 lakhs for the same period.

Pemmasani’s movable assets are worth Rs 2,316.54 crores which include FDRs, term deposits and others. His spouse’s movable assets are worth Rs 2,289.35 crores. Pemmasani’s immovable assets are worth Rs 72 crore and his spouse’s assets are worth Rs 34.82 crores. Most of his immovable properties are in Texas and Hyderabad.

Pemmasani has deposits in JP Morgan Chase Bank in USA. He and his wife has liabilities of Rs 519 crores. Pemmasani and his wife Koneru Sriratna own joint shares in almost 101 companies across the world.

Apart from that, the TDP MP candidate also owns a Rolls Royce Ghost worth Rs 2.1 crore, two Benz cars and a Tesla x.

Pemmasani completed his MD in Internal Medicine at Geisinger Medical Centre in Danville, Pennsylvania USA in 2005. He earned his MBBS at Dr NTR University of Health Sciences, Andhra Pradesh in 1999 and has no criminal cases against him.
