Intensify flood relief operations, prepare compensation proposals: CM Revanth to officers
Hyderabad: Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy has directed officials to intensify relief operations and prepare compensation proposals on a war footing for crop, property, and livelihood losses in flood-hit districts.
Unprecedented rainfall in Kamareddy and Medak triggered flash floods, displacing families and damaging farmlands.

Administration on High Alert
In a review with senior officials, the Chief Minister instructed Chief Secretary K. Ramakrishna Rao to document damages with photos and videos and submit accurate reports for early compensation.
He emphasised that even the smallest grievances of affected families should be addressed without delay.
Revanth Reddy praised the Medak district administration for its prompt flood relief efforts and said preparedness, timely awareness, and rainfall data monitoring are essential to minimise future risks.

Clarification on Urea Stock
Amid concerns over fertiliser availability, the Chief Minister clarified that a sufficient buffer stock of urea was in place and warned against panic buying. He urged officials to promote Nano Urea among farmers to ensure sustainable agricultural practices.

Aerial Survey and Project Inspections
The Chief Minister conducted an aerial survey of flood-hit areas in Peddapalli, Kamareddy, and Medak. Accompanied by Irrigation Minister Uttam Kumar Reddy and State Congress president Mahesh Kumar Goud, he inspected the Sripada Yellampalli Reservoir Project at Anthargam.
He reviewed inflows, current storage levels, and downstream water releases, directing officials to complete full water storage by season’s end. He also ordered the evacuation of residents from low-lying areas as water levels continued to rise.
Revanth Reddy recalled that the Congress government in undivided Andhra Pradesh had built the Yellampalli Project as a key junction for Godavari water utilisation. He said expert engineers will be consulted on the restoration of Medigadda, Annaram, and Sundilla barrages of the Kaleshwaram project.

Police, SDRF in Rescue Operations
Director General of Police Dr. Jitender urged citizens to dial 100 for emergency assistance during heavy rains. He said police teams were on high alert and working closely with SDRF and NDRF units. Helicopter services were also deployed to evacuate stranded people.
Over 1,444 people have been rescued so far, particularly in Kamareddy and Medak, while six persons remain missing.
Chief Secretary’s Directions
Chief Secretary K. Ramakrishna Rao held a teleconference with senior officials, directing them to submit preliminary reports on flood damages. He noted that Nirmal, Medak, Kamareddy, and Sircilla districts suffered the heaviest losses due to incessant rains.
