Invoke Article 356, dismiss Jagan government: Naidu to Center

Vijayawada: Telugu Desam Party National President N Chandrababu Naidu on Friday urged the central government to impose president's rule in Andhra Pradesh to prevent law and order breakdown, and economic collapse in the state

Naidu alleged that the state-sponsored terrorism perpetuated by Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy's regime would come to an end only when Article 356 was invoked in AP. The Centre should consider this since the TDP has made this demand for the first time though it was against the president's rule in principle.

TDP chief concluded his 36-hour 'Deeksha' against YSRCP government terrorism. Addressing the party activists, Naidu said the Jagan Reddy regime has made targeted attacks on all sections including TDP leaders, common public, employees, farmers, and constitutional institutions like courts and election commission. The faction-ridden Pulivendula settlements were perpetrated in the nook and corner of the state.

Naidu demanded that a CBI inquiry be ordered into the latest attack on the TDP main office in Mangalagiri which was like a temple for over 70 lakh devoted activists of the party.

The state police did not register a case. Police even did not arrest a single person but a false attempt to murder case was filed against the TDP leaders. The house of TDP leader Pattabhi Ram was vandalized and then he was implicated in a fabricated case.

Naidu asked why the YSRCP government was complacent without taking any action against the rising ganja and drug menace in the state. The value of seized heroin at Mundra port was estimated to be Rs 21,000 Cr and it was being smuggled by a Vijayawada-based firm.

Over Rs 8,000 Cr worth of ganja was being cultivated on 25,000 acres of land in the Paderu agency area. The AP government was not able to tell the people what action it was taking against this, The TDP chief criticized Jagan Reddy for misinterpreting one word used by Pattabhi Ram.

"If the Chief Minister had a lot of love and affection for his mother, he should explain why he had dragged her name for cheap political mileage. Jagan Reddy government's terrorism was evident from how he dealt with the Vivekananda Reddy murder case. Dr. Sudhakar was harassed till his death. Dalit youth were tonsured and eliminated just for raising their voices against sand and liquor mafia," he said.

TDP chief said the YSRCP government was totally dependent on the liquor mafia, drugs, and rowdyism to perpetrate its crimes and atrocities on all sections of the people. But, the TDP would not remain silent and it will continue its battle for dharma and justice.
