Amaravati: Seven players from Andhra Pradesh and Telangana have been bought by different teams during the IPL auction 2025 in Jeddah.

The 18th edition of IPL is a highly anticipated franchise-based T20 cricket tournament organized by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). Featuring ten teams, the competition will span 74 matches, scheduled to take place from March 14 to May 25, 2025.

Who are the players?

Namboori Thakur Tilak Varma from Hyderabad, a left-handed batsman and part-time off-spin bowler was retained by Mumbai Indians for Rs 8 Crore.

He made his international debut for India on August 3 2023 in a T20I match against the West Indies. He plays for Hyderabad in domestic cricket and Mumbai Indians in the Indian Premier League (IPL).

Nitish Kumar Reddy from Visakhapatnam who plays from Sunrisers Hyderabad has been retained for Rs 6 Crore.

Earlier, he was bought by Sunrisers Hyderabad for Rs.20 Lakh. He made his first-class debut on January 27, 2020, for Andhra in the 2019ā€“20 Ranji Trophy. He made his List A debut on 20 February 2021, for Andhra in the 2020ā€“21 Vijay Hazare Trophy. Nitish made his T20I debut on October 6, 2024, and his Test cricket debut for India on 22 November 2024 during the 2024-25 Borderā€“Gavaskar Trophy.

Shaik Rasheed, 20, from Guntur, was bought by Chennai Super Kings for Rs 30 lakh. He had already been part of CSK in the previous season

He made his first-class debut on February 24, 2022, for Andhra Pradesh against Services in the 2021ā€“22 Ranji Trophy. Rashid made his T20 debut on October 16, 2022, for Andhra Pradesh against Nagaland in the 2022ā€“23 Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy.

Rasheed's contributions with the bat especially in the semi-final and final helped India win the U-19 World Cup. It was former Indian Cricketer VVS Laxman's advice that helped him to improve his batting skills in the ICC U-19 World Cup.

Visakhapatnam-based cricketer Pyla Avinash was bought by Punjab Kings for ā‚¹30 lakh. The 24-year-old is an all-rounder selected for the IPL 2025.

Kakinada's fast bowler Satyanarayana Raju has been selected by Mumbai Indians for ā‚¹30 lakh. Raju is set to make his IPL debut this season.

Mumbai Indians bought 18 players over two days of bidding, with Kiwi pacer Trent Boult headlining the five-time championā€™s auction list.

Srikakulam champ Tripurana Vijay has been selected by Delhi Capitals for the IPL 2025. The 23-year-old player from Srikakulam is a batting all-rounder. Tripurana Vijay has been bought by the Delhi Capitals for a base price of Rs 30 lakh.

Hyderabad-born fast bowler Mohammed Siraj has been bought by Gujarat Titans for ā‚¹12.25 crore. Siraj, who previously represented Royal Challengers Bangalore, also plays for Gujarat Titans in the Indian Premier League and Hyderabad in domestic cricket.

In February 2017, he was bought by the Sunrisers Hyderabad team for the 2017 IPL for 2.6 crore. In January 2018, he was bought by the Royal Challengers Bangalore in the 2018 IPL. On 21 October 2020, he became the first bowler in IPL history to bowl back to back maiden overs in a single match.

He was a member of the Indian team that won the 2024 T20 World Cup. He is also a DSP (Deputy Superintendent of Police) in Hyderabad appointed on 11 October 2024 at the Telangana DGP (Director General of Police) office.
