Is BRS MLA Mynampally Hanumanth joining Congress?

Hyderabad: Hyderabad: BRS sitting MLA from Malkajgiri Mynampally Hanumantha Rao made a scathing attack on BRS minister Harish Rao, blaming him for the lack of development in the Medak Assembly constituency.

A video, released on August 21, allegedly shows Mynampally telling his associate that he has vowed to defeat minister Harish Rao.

It is also pertinent that the video was released on the day when chief minister and BRS supremo K Chandrashekar Rao is scheduled to announce the first list of candidates for the upcoming Telangana State Assembly elections.

ā€œI will definitely teach him a lesson. He came carrying a suitcase and wearing rubber chappals. Now look where he is. I donā€™t have time now. I will concentrate on Malkajgiri and my son will fight from the Medak constituency. Later, I will make sure that Harish Rao will have no address in Siddipet constituency,ā€ Hanumantha Rao was allegedly heard saying in the video. ā€œMynampally Hanumantha Rao will stand on his word. I will not sleep until I bring down Harish Rao. This is the promise I keep,ā€ he was heard saying in the video.

Closeness with Congress

Talks in the political circles state that Hanumanth Rao has reportedly met with top guns in the Indian National Congress in Delhi. The meeting was felicitated by members of a Kerala-based political outfit. Telangana Congress chief A Revanth Reddy is reportedly an old political friend of Hanumanth Rao from their time during the Telugu Desam Party regime in united Andhra Pradesh.

If sources are to be believed, Mynampally is seeking a ticket for at least four Assembly constituencies, if he joins the Congress. Reportedly, he is seeking a Lok Sabha ticket for himself, Medak for his son Rohit Mynampally, and Medchal and Secunderabad Cantonment board for his close associates.

Refusing to give a ticket to Rohit Mynampally for the Medak Assembly constituency caused cracks in the political equation between Mynampally and minister Harish Rao. Former deputy speaker Padma Devender Reddy is currently the sitting MLA in Medak and she is likely to stand a chance again.
