ISB to ORR and JV Hills Park to Masjid Banda: Hyderabad gets new link roads

Hyderabad: Telangana Minister of Municipal Administration and Urban Development(MAUD) KT Rama Rao has thrown five important link-roads open to the public on Monday. The link roads will connect two main roads of the city with four-lane thoroughfare. It will help in decongestion and reducing travel time.

For example, to reach Old Bombay Highway(Road 1) from NH-65(Road 2), a person had to travel 5 km and it would normally take 15-20 minutes. These link roads will connect Road 1 to Road 2 with a shorter distance. Now the person shall have to cover 1.5 km without any traffic hassles,

Corridor No. 12 - JV Hills Park to Masjid Banda Road via Prabhupada layout

It starts from Camelot Road at JV Hills and traverses via Madhava Hills Estates Prabhupada layout and Sri Maruthi Nagar Colony via Luxor Avenue (HT Line). Two link roads have been taken up for construction along the corridor.

After completion of the corridor, commuters residing in Madhava Hills Estates, Prabhupada Layout, and Sri Maruthi Nagar Colony shall have direct access to Gachibowli via Masjid Banda Road.

This corridor will benefit people by reducing travel time. This link road will act as vital access for the surrounding establishments and residential colonies. This one km four-lane road will be built at the cost of Rs 7.574 crore.

Corridor No.1, 3 & 43- Alternative Connecting Links from NH - 65 (INTU, Nizampet, Miyapur and other areas) to Hitech City and Kondapur.

Corridor No.1 starts at Nizampet X Roads and traverses via Vasanth Nagar, KPHB Phase - 6, Venkata Ramana Colony, Mahindra Ashvita Lifespaces Gated community, Vasantha City and NAC compound wall to Kondapur Golf court via World One Vignan School. This road is 0.75 km long and it was built at the estimated cost of Rs 7.41 crore.

Corridor No.3 starts at NH - 65 near HMWSSB and traverses via Diamond Hill Colony, IDPL Employees Colony, Srila Park Pride Road, Shilpa Avenue Colony, Novotel Hotel Road Circle and ends at Kondapur Masjid junction on Gachibowli - Miyapur Road. This road is 0.45 km long and the construction cost is Rs 2.84 crore

Corridor No.43 starts at Novotel and ends at RTA Office. This corridor acts as a major link to Novotel / Hitex Exhibition Center and Hitech City. MMTS through Missing Link Corridor No.1 from Kondapur, Hafeezpet, Miyapur, and Gachibowli. This road is 0.60 km long and the construction cost is Rs 5.58 crore

The link roads from Nizampet, JNTU to Hitech City & Kondapur Junctions will reduce travel time. These will act as distributor/collector roads for the surrounding establishments and residential colonies.

The collector/distributor road runs parallel to the main travel lanes of a highway and connects it to front thoroughfares or entrance ramps. It allows motorists to bypass a traffic signal by driving under the intersecting road.

These three missing link road will act as major connectivity from Miyapur, Sardar Patel Nagar, Vasanth Nagar, KPHB phase 6 and 9 to Hitech City Road and Hafeezpet road via Vasanth City road, Golf Court, and RTO Office.

The traffic congestion will reduce on JNTU- Hitech City Road. These link roads connect NH - 65 and KPHB - Hitech City Road via IDPL Employees Colony through another missing link corridor No.134.

ISB to Outer Ring Road at Manikonda

This stretch will connect ISB road (the stretch between Gachibowli and the Financial District directly) to Outer Ring Road (ORR) at Manikonda. Earlier, the motorist had to take a long ride from old Mumbai highway and ORR to reach Manikonda but now it will connect directly. The length of this road is 1.94 km
