Jagan assets grew by 41% since 2019; total wealth at Rs 779.8 crores

Hyderabad: The wealth of Andhra Pradesh chief minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy saw a 41 per cent increase from 2019 to 2024, as per the poll affidavit submitted by CM Jagan for the upcoming AP State Assembly elections. Jagan (51) is contesting from Pulivendla assembly constituency located in Kadapa district of AP.

Analysing the list of Jagan’s assets in the affidavit showed that his wealth has increased from Rs 375 crores in 2019 to Rs 529.87 crores in 2024. While spouse YS Bharathi Reddy’s assets increased from Rs 124 crores to Rs 176.30 crores in five years, the total wealth, including his daughter’s assets, stood at Rs 779.8 crores.

A large chunk of Jagan's assets is in form of fixed deposits, insurance and loans given to others and immovable assets. It may be recalled that Jagan gave his sister Y S Sharmila a loan of Rs 82 crore, which was disclosed in her affidavit. As a chief minister, he does have a fleet of cars, however in person he owns none, as per the document.

Spouse - Rs 119,38,07,193 ( jewellery worth 5 Cr). Together- Rs 602.46 Cr.

Jagan’s movable assets are worth Rs 483,08,35,064.

Bharathi Reddy’s movable assets, which include jewellery worth Rs 5 crores, are Rs 119,38,07,193. They together own Rs 602.46 crores.

Jagan owns a Scorpio bulletproof car.

-Immovable assets- ( Commercial and Agricultural properties)

Him- Rs 46, 78, 89,930.

Spouse- Rs 56,92,19, 84.

Together- Rs 103.71 Cr

Liabilities

Him Rs 1.10 Cr

Spouse- Rs 7. 41 Cr.

Jagan’s immovable assets such as commercial and agricultural properties come up to Rs 46,78, 89,930 while Bharathi Reddy’s assets are worth Rs 56,92,19,841.

Together their immovable assets make up to Rs 103.71 crores. The affidavit showed that his liabilities are Rs 1.10 crores while Bharathi’s are Rs 7.41 crores.

-Criminal cases- 26 ( both by state and Federal investigations agencies) that included money laundering, defamation, criminal intimidation, promoting enmity between classes in connection with election, printing or engraving matter known to be defamatory and others.

- Jagan does not own a car however has a Scorpio bullet proof car registered on his name.

Investments- According to the poll affidavit, CM Jagan, his spouse Bharathi Reddy and two daughters YS Harshini Reddy and YS Varsha Reddy have investments running in crores.

A large part of Jagan’s investments is in Sandaru Power Company Pvt Limited, Bharati Cements and Classic Realty Pvt Ltd. Bharati’s total investments stood at Rs 53 crores which include Sandur Power Company Pvt Ltd, Saraswathi Power and Industries Pvt Ltd, Classic Realty Pvt Ltd and others.

The CM holds a degree in Commerce from Pragati Maha Vidyalaya, Osmania University, Hyderabad. He completed his highest education in the year 1994. He owns large chunks of lands in Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and Karnataka.
