Jubilee Hills rape: MLA's son arrested; police say 'all 6 accused held'

Hyderabad: Police have arrested MLA's son, who was on a run, in the Jubilee Hills gang rape case. City police Commissioner CV Anand said the sixth accused in the Jubilee Hills gang rape case has been arrested.

Addressing the media, he said that the sixth accused was not involved in the crime but was present in the Mercedes Benz, one of the cars that were used in the commission of the crime.

The sixth accused, who is also a minor, has been booked under Section 354, 323 of IPC, and Section 9G Section 10 of the POCSO Act. All the accused have also been booked under IT Act for circulating intimate videos shot by them in the Mercedes Benz car.

Anand said the child, in conflict with the law, shot the videos to defame in case a lid is blown off the crime.

Till Tuesday, the police were detailing about five accused persons and a sixth person got listed in the crime on Tuesday.

The police further confirmed that the five accused who gang-raped the victim will be judged accordingly. CP said that they will either be given the death penalty or imprisonment for life.

Earlier, the police had taken into custody the five other accused including 4 minors and 1 major. The four minors have been sent to observation homes by the Juvenile Justice Board.

The 'Euphoria' party

Some months back, a boy from Bengaluru wanted to book Insomnia nightclub in Jubilee Hills to throw a party. The minor wanted a place where no alcohol was served, according to the police. The party was named 'Euphoria'. Rs.900-Rs.1200 was fixed as an entry fee. The victim paid Rs.1300 to join the party.

Where did the crime happen

The crime took place at Jubilee Hills road no 40, behind Pedda Amma Temple. The boys took turns raping the girl in the car. Both the cars, Mercedes Benz and Innova were driven by minors. The official driver of the car was asked to get down at Concu bakery. Police said the crime was committed in an Innova vehicle which was hired by the government for official duties.

The video

The CP also stated that the BJP workers had access to the leaked videos. He said that the videos only came to him after the BJP workers leaked them. Asked about the source of how the BJP got the video, the CP said, "They (BJP leaders) only can tell."
