Kakinada: How 3.5YO girls testimony blew lid off her mothers murder

Kakinada: A three-and-a-half-year-old girl's statement about how her mother died led to the arrest of her father. The incident happened in Kakinada, Andhra Pradesh when a husband killed his wife and masked it as a natural death.

Manik Gosha and Lipika, natives of Odisha, have been putting up at Ramakrishnarao Peta, Jenda Veedhi in Kakinada.

Manik works as a service captain in a star hotel. On September 21 morning, Manik informed Lipika's parents that she died of chest pain. Parents performed rituals assuming that it was a natural death.

Since the day her mother died, three-year-old Krishika was trying to explain something to her grandparents. Finding something suspicious, Lipika's parents complained to II town police. During the investigation, it was found that Lipika was killed by her husband.

According to Krishika, both her parents fought the day before Lipika died. Her father strangled her to death, she said. Krishika explained the incident to the police by acting like her father slapped her, caught the neck of her mother, and killed her.

"The couple got married a few years ago. Manik used to harass her for dowry., Lipika complained to the Umerkote police station in Nabarangpur district, Odisha in May. She stayed at her parent's place for a few days and later returned. On September 19, they again entered into an argument and in a fit of rage, Manik slapped Lipika and strangled her to death", said II Town CI Ramachandra Rao.
