KCR’s May Day gift: Sanitation workers’ wages hiked by Rs 1,000

KCR gifts Rs 1000 as May Day gift

Hyderabad: Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao announced “May Day gift” for all sanitation workers in the State. KCR decided to raise the wages of sanitation workers by Rs. 1,000 per month. As many as 1,06,474 sanitation workers will benefit from the increase in monthly wages.

Apart from GHMC and HMWSSB, all sanitation workers working in municipal corporations, municipalities, and gram panchayats of the state will receive enhanced salaries every month. The CM said the increased wages will be enforced with immediate effect.

KCR said the state government is committed to the welfare and development of sanitation workers by recognising their efforts and sacrifices since the formation of Telangana state with the slogan “Safai Anna Niku salaam Anna” (Hats off to sanitation worker).

The Chief Minister said the state government is committed to the welfare of every single worker who works hard in the state. He said it has also been decided to increase the salaries of TSRTC workers and that the finance department has been directed to take appropriate measures in this regard.

The Chief Minister said the efforts put in by sanitation workers are commendable in achieving qualitative development of villages and towns in Telangana.

He praised the workers for winning numerous awards for Telangana villages and municipalities at the national and international levels.

KCR said a big transformation took place in the development of villages and towns in Telangana.

The difference between the past and present conditions of villages and towns is visible at the ground level, he said, adding that the government is aware of the hardships of the workers and has increased their salaries from time to time and stood by them.

On the occasion, KCR expressed delight over sanitation workers’ showing gratitude and working with the same spirit and becoming stakeholders in the development of the state.
