Hyderabad: Telangana Chief Minister K ChandrashekarRao will address a party public meeting at Halia in Nalgonda district on the 10th of February,2020. It is pertinent to note that the public meeting is ahead of the Nagarjuna Sagar by polls, which is likely to be held in the coming months.
The assembly seat of Nagarjuna Sagar fell vacant following the sudden demise of Nomula Narsimhaiah, elected member of the state legislative assembly. Since then the constituency where TRS and Congress party has a strong hold has turned crucial for political parties in Telangana. A word making round that the BJP party which won 48 seats in municipal elections and gained a large share in the vote bank is likely to field actress turned politician VijayaShanti while the congress has plans to name senior politician Jana Reddy.
Meanwhile on 5th of February, Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao has announced that all the lift irrigation schemes including Nellikallu in Devarakonda,Nagarjunasagar, Munugode, Kodad and Huzurnagar Assembly segments under the combined Nalgonda district would be constructed soon.
The decision follows a meeting between the CM and Telangana State legislative Council Chairman Gutta Sukhender Reddy, Ministers Jagdeesh Reddy, MLAs, MLCs, ZP Chairpersons and other public representatives.
"The CM said that under various projects Ayucut was covered, and to supply water to the remaining Ayucut, 8 to 9 Lift Irrigation Schemes along with Nellikallu would be constructed at a cost of Rs 3,000 Crore. The CM decided to lay a foundation for the lift Irrigation Schemes in one place. The CM will lay the foundation stone for the Lift Irrigation Schemes on Feb 10 at 12.30 PM at Nellikallu and later at 2 PM he will address a TRS Party public meeting to be held at Halia" said a statement from the Chief Minister's office.
