Hyderabad: Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao will visit Bihar on 31 August. KCR will provide financial assistance to the families of 12 workers from Bihar who were killed in the Bhoiguda fire in March. He will hand over the cheques to the families along with Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar.
It is to be recalled that a fire at a scrap godown in Bhoiguda, Secunderabad, had killed 11 migrant workers from Bihar in March this year. Also, KCR will provide financial assistance to the families of Indian soldiers martyred in Galvan valley. Later, upon the invitation of Nitish Kumar, KCR will participate in the afternoon lunch programme. According to the CMO, Rs 10 lakh to each family of martyred soldiers and Rs 5 lakh to each family of deceased migrant worker, will be distributed.
Both Chief Ministers are expected to discuss national politics during their meeting. It is pertinent to note that, this is CM KCR's first meeting with Bihar CM Nitish Kumar after his party's fall out with the BJP.
Earlier in the day, minor tension prevailed at the CM's public meeting when a young man, by name P Ramesh 'attempted' to end his life using kerosene. Identified as a daily wage worker from Illandukunta, Karimnagar, Ramesh wanted help from CMRF following his father's demise. But he couldn't give his letter to CM due to restrictions. The cops were quick to foil the attempt and took Ramesh to a safe location.
