KCR wanted to join NDA after GHMC 2020 polls, claims Modi; KTR slams PM’s ‘lies’

Nizamabad: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday said Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao wanted to join the NDA after the Hyderabad Municipal Corporation elections in 2020. However, he rejected KCR’s request, Modi claimed.

Speaking at a rally here, as part of his election tour of Telangana, PM Modi said that, before the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) elections in 2020, Rao used to come to the airport to receive him with fanfare and show a lot of respect. “But, why did it stop suddenly?” he asked.

“Why so much anger suddenly? The reason for that is because, after the Hyderabad polls, he came to Delhi to meet me. He gave me a beautiful shawl and honoured me. He showed so much love which is out of character for KCR,” Modi said during the public meeting.

“Then, he (KCR) told me that the country was progressing under my leadership and wanted to be part of NDA. He wanted my support after the GHMC elections,” he alleged.

“I told KCR that his deeds are such that Modi cannot join with you,” he added.

In the GHMC elections in 2020, BRS emerged as the single biggest party by winning 56 seats but couldn’t get the majority. The BJP had won 48 out of the 150 seats in the civic polls.

Modi said he had ‘rejected the KCR’s entry into NDA’ even if it meant that the BJP would have to sit in the opposition in GHMC.

Modi accuses BRS of corruption

Modi accused the BRS of dispensing ‘looted’ funds amongst themselves, which were meant for the development of the state.

“The BJP government has given huge funds to the BRS government for the development of Telangana. But, unfortunately, the BRS government looted that money. Loot is their mantra,” Modi claimed.

He charged that the Congress and its ‘arrogant’ INDIA alliance had blocked the Women’s Reservation Bill for the last 30 years.

Speaking on the liberation of the erstwhile Hyderabad State and its merger with Indian Union, Modi said ‘a son from Gujarat’, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, ensured the liberation from Nizams.” “Today another son of Gujarat (Modi) comes to give you prosperity, development and welfare,” he added.

Citing that Telangana has talent everywhere, he lauded the state for providing the world with the Covid-19 vaccine.

Modi is a liar, says KTR

In response to the Modi’s claims against ‘KCR’s request’, Bharat Rashtra Samithi working president and minister KT Rama Rao expressed his anger over the PM.

KTR told reporters that the Prime Minister "is an outright liar" and that is the reason why the BJP is called the "Biggest Jhoot Factory."

"Were we bitten by a mad dog that we wanted to join the NDA? All the parties are leaving NDA nowadays. Shiv Sena has left you (NDA). Janata Dal (U) has left you. Telugu Desam has left you. Shiromani Akali Dal has left you. Who is there with you now? Besides CBI, IT and ED, who is there in India now?" he asked Modi.

“We do not need to listen to the words of a man who has got down to such a low level for politics. Modi is using an official meeting between a prime minister and a chief minister for dirty politics,”

He said that no one would believe the words of the prime minister who lied about his educational qualifications. “It is unfortunate that a person like the prime minister plays so many lies. He has a habit of playing lies to whichever state he goes for meetings,” KTR added.

"The prime minister is done telling stories. Now he should try his script in films and he might get oscar. No one needs to join the NDA. It is a sinking ship,” stated KTR.

He stated that KCR is a fighter and he will not work with a cheater like Narendra Modi. People of Telangana are ready to elect KCR as chief minister for the third time, he said. “If the BJP or the prime minister has the guts, they should prepare for the challenge of not losing their deposits in 110 seats this time,” KTR challenged Modi.

Revanth sticks to claims of BJP-BRS partnership

On the other side, Telangana Congress chief Revanth Reddy alleged that BRS and BJP have a strong relationship made of ‘fevicol’, where KCR and Modi maintain a secret relationship.
