Kesineni Nani to join YSRCP, meets CM Jagan

He is likely to join the YSRCP ahead of the crucial polls in Andhra Pradesh.
Kesineni Srinivas popularly known as Nani was first elected to the Lok Sabha in 2014 from Telugu Desam party and re-elected from same constituency in 2019.
On Wednesday, he met AP Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy. Post meeting Jagan, he spoke to the media. "For the upcoming elections, TDP-Janasena parties will get just 40 Assembly seats," said Nani.
He alleged that Nara Lokesh planned to attack him in Tiruvuru in NTR district. "I have never made a mistake in my nine years of being in the party. I always wanted to develop Vijayawada city, but Chandra Babu Naidu never had that interest," he said.
Sources said that Nani asked for Vijayawada MP seat, also Tiruvuru Assembly seat for Nallalagatla Swamy Das who is currently in TDP but is likely to quit the party. Das is a close aid of Keseneni Nani. However, he stated that he did not ask any particular ticket and is ready to contest from any constituency which Jagan offers.
Nani states that he lost Rs 2,000 Crore spending for TDP.
When he announced his resignation from TDP, he said "As Chandrababu Naidu deems that the party (TDP) does not need me, I feel it is not correct for me to continue in the party. So, I will go to Delhi soon, meet the Lok Sabha Speaker and tender my resignation."
Following her fatherās resignation, Telugu Desam Party leader Kesineni Swetha, who represents Ward 11 in the Vijayawada Municipal Corporation (VMC), resigned from her post of corporator two days ago and she would also leave the party once her resignation is accepted.
Swetha stated that she could no longer stay on in the TDP which had āinsultedā her father, and said that her father would never hanker after money or positions of power.
