Khammam tragedy: 2 die, more than 10 injured after fire broke in BRS Athemeeya sammelanam

By Newsmeter Network Published on 12 April 2023 8:56 AM GMTKhammam: Two people died, and more than ten people were injured after a fire broke out during a Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) gathering, Athemeeya sammelanam, in Cheemalapadu, Karepalli Mandal, Khammama district on Wednesday.
The event was attended by Khammam MP Nama Nageswara Rao and MLA Ramulu.
According to the sources, the incident was caused by firecrackers burst by activists, which fell on a nearby hut and led to a cylinder explosion.
At the time of the incident, one person died, and many people were injured. Among the injured, two of them are in critical condition.
Immediately, fire tenders reached the spot. The injured were immediately shifted to Khammam District government hospital.
Transport Minister Puvvada Ajay Kumar assured the affected families of the government's support in every possible manner. The Minister directed the Khammam district medical and health department officials to take immediate steps to ensure that the injured receive better treatment. He also contacted other leaders to gather more information about the incident.
Expressing grief over the incident, Minister for Municipal Administration and Urban Development KTR promised to support the families of the deceased and the injured. He also spoke to Khammam officials and leaders, urging them to take immediate steps to provide better medical treatment to the injured.
Chief Minister KCR promised to provide all possible support to the families of the deceased workers and instructed officials to provide better medical services for the injured.
Minister Harish Rao inquired about the incident and spoke to the superintendent of Khammam Government Hospital. He directed them to provide the highest level of medical care to the injured. In case of necessity, the Minister has ordered for the injured to be moved to NIMS Hospital to receive the best possible treatment.
