KTR sends notices to news, YouTube channels spreading 'fake news against KCR family'
KTR warned that all of them who are ‘part of the conspiracy to trouble just one person and one family’ must face punishment according to the law
By Sistla Dakshina Murthy Published on 31 March 2024 6:57 AM GMTHyderabad: Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) working president KT Rama Rao sent legal notices to some vernacular media channels, YouTube and social media organisations alleging that they are ‘spreading false propaganda and fabricated stories’ as part of a conspiracy to hurt him and his family’s public image.
In the legal notice, KTR named the organisations that were publishing ‘misinformation, as part of a malicious intended plan to cause damage to himself and his family. These conspiracies are being carried out under the cover of the media as part of a specific agenda, he said.
He asked them to immediately remove the ill-intended videos spreading malicious propaganda in matters unrelated to them and their family. KTR said that more steps will be taken if such untruths are not removed immediately.
“We are taking appropriate action as per the law against these channels which are creating the worst thumbnails by using names and photos in many matters that have nothing to do with them,” he said.
KTR warned that all of them who are ‘part of the conspiracy to trouble just one person and one family’ must face punishment according to the law. KTR alleged that YouTube channels are run by only a few people and some media organisations are also acting in a partisan manner according to a well-planned plan. Legal notices have been sent to them, he added.
‘Few media units responded positively: KTR’
The BRS working president further said that some media houses and YouTube channels have already corrected their mistakes and responded by saying that they have removed the videos and content.
“If the remaining media channels and YouTube channels do not remove such content within a week, further legal action will be taken. From now on, action will be taken against every media company and YouTube channel that spread false propaganda on issues unrelated to him and his party, and this matter should be identified,” KTR said, and added that legal notices have been sent not only to those companies but also directly to YouTube.
KTR suggested that henceforth media organisations and YouTube channels should only promote facts and refrain from promoting lies and untruths that cause trouble to others. He warned that the organisations that are acting conspiratorially and spreading propaganda against them should be ready for more legal notices and cases in the future.
