This move comes in ahead of Lok Sabha and Assembly elections in Andhra Pradesh.
The two officers are asked to take charge immediately and a compliance report shall be submitted to the Commission on April 25.
1994 batch officer Kumar Vishwajeet earlier served as ACB General in 2022 for Andhra Pradesh.
While PHD Ramakrishna earlier served as Incharge SP of Guntur Urban, and DIG ACB.
A day before ECI has transferred Andhra Pradesh intelligence chief P Sitaramanjaneyulu and Vijayawada Police Commissioner Kanthi Rana Tata. This follows the stone pelting on Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy in Vijayawada recently.
ECI was not happy with Andhra Pradesh police after the stone pelting on Jagan, TDP president N Chandrababu Naidu at Gajuwaka, and Jana Sena Party president Pawan Kalyan at Tenali.
ECI also took cognizance of the letter of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Andhra Pradesh unit president Daggubati Purandeswari and other opposition party leaders in response to the actions of a few IPS officers in the state.
Purandeswari, in her letter, drew attention to the security lapses that occurred on March 17 at Prime Minister Narendra Modi's public meeting in Chilakaluripet.
