Andhra Pradesh went for 175 Assembly seats and 25 Lok Sabha polls

Amaravati: The counting of votes for the Assembly elections in Andhra Pradesh will begin at 8 AM on Tuesday along with the counting of votes for the Lok Sabha Elections 2024.

Andhra Pradesh went for 175 Assembly seats and 25 Lok Sabha polls on May 13.

This is a mega elections in Andhra Pradesh with YSRCP alone contesting 175 seats and TDP-Janasena-BJP going for an alliance.

    Out of 25 Lok Sabha seats, NDA swept 21 seats away while YSRCP managed to win only four seats. With the BJP failing to get a majority on its own in the Lok Sabha, TDP's 16 seats will be crucial for the NDA.

    The NDA comprising TDP, BJP and Janasena has won 101 Assembly seats and four Lok Sabha seats in Andhra Pradesh. According to the latest information disseminated by the Election Commission, TDP won 85 Assembly seats and is leading in 49, Janasena won 16 (and is leading in 5 segments) and BJP emerged victorious in five and is leading in three constituencies. YSR Congress won three Assembly seats and is leading in nine others. Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy and TDP leader Nara Lokesh are among the winners.

    The NDA comprising BJP, TDP and Janasena on Tuesday won three Lok Sabha seats in Andhra Pradesh while it leads in 18 more segments. According to the latest data disseminated by the Election Commission, BJP's B Srinivasa Varma won the Narasapuram Lok Sabha constituency, emerging as the first Lok Sabha victor for the NDA in the state. Varma trounced YSRCP's G Umabala by 2.76 lakh votes. He polled 7,07,343 votes in total to Umabala's 4,30,541.

    Andhra Pradesh BJP chief D Purandeswari won the Rajahmundry Lok Sabha seat with a margin of 2.39 lakh votes. She garnered 7,26,515 votes to defeat YSRCP's G Srinivas, who managed to secure 4,87,376 votes.
