Hyderabad: DGP Orders Investigation into Khadeer Khan Case as Public Outcry Grows. The Khadeer Khan case has caused a sensation in the state and stirred up the police department. In response to allegations that Khan's death was caused by police brutality, DGP Anjani Kumar has ordered a senior police officer from Kamareddy district to investigate the case under the supervision of Multi Zone-1 IG Chandrasekhar Reddy.

Disciplinary action has been called for against the concerned Inspector, SI, and constables, and one of the three DSPs in Kamareddy district may be assigned to lead the investigation.

On Saturday, SP Rohini Priyadarshini suspended Medak town Sub inspector Rajasekhar, constables Pawan Kumar and Prashanth in light of the latest developments. They along with inspector madhu of medak town police station have been ordered to report to the Multi Zone-2 IG office, and a comprehensive report has been submitted to the IG for disciplinary action.

A suspicious death case has been registered in the Medak town police station, while Khan's wife Siddeshwari has demanded that a murder case be filed.

Khadeer Khan Case: A Timeline of Events

The 35-year-old daily wage labourer Khadeer khan died on Friday due to alleged police torture. He was picked up on January 29 from his sister's house in Hyderabad on suspicion of theft and brought to Medak. While undergoing treatment, he alleged that he was kept in custody for five days and beaten up despite protesting his innocence. He was released on February 2 and asked to sign a paper. Khadeer named the two constables and the Sub-Inspector who allegedly beat him up.

He sustained kidney damage and was unable to stand on his feet. Khadeer was admitted to a hospital in Medak on February 9 and later referred to secundrabad Gandhi Hospital, where he died on February 17. The body was handed over to his family on Saturday after an autopsy and taken to Medak for last rites.

Medical Assessments and Autopsy Report: Possible Causes of Khadeer Khan's Death

Preliminary medical assessments have indicated that both of Khan's kidneys were damaged, and he spent two days on dialysis at Gandhi Hospital before passing away from cardiac arrest. Doctors will perform a biopsy of Khan's organs to determine the true cause of death. The report will seek to answer whether the police beatings were the direct cause of Khan's death or whether they exacerbated pre-existing health issues.
