Hyderabad: Telangana government has set up a call center at the Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA) to assist people applying for the Layout Regularization Scheme (LRS).

The public has been asked to dial the toll-free number 1800 599 8838 to access the call center.

Earlier, the government launched a website for the convenience of plot owners. The LRS 2020 website allows citizens to check application status, approval proceeding, fee details, shortfall details, and rejection letters without logging in, according to a press release issued by the officials.

All eligible plot owners are encouraged to make payments before March 31 to avail themselves of the 25 percent discount. HMDA will ensure LRS applications with completed payments are processed within 10 days.

It may be recalled here that a few days ago, the state government amended rules allowing the registration of unregistered plots in unauthorized layouts, provided at least 10 percent of plots were sold via registered sale deed before August 26, 2020. This applies regardless of whether the owners applied under LRS 2020.

Key Highlights:

25% Rebate: Applicants who pay regularization and pro-rata open space charges by March 31 will receive a 25 percent discount on these charges.

If an LRS 2020 application is rejected, 90 percent of the amount paid will be refunded by the HMDA with a deduction of 10 percent toward processing charges.

Procedural Updates:

LRS applications of plots falling within 200m of water bodies/lakes will be processed through the Revenue and Irrigation Department.

For LRS applications of plots not falling in prohibited lands, lakes, and water bodies or within 200m of water bodies/ lakes, the provisional LRS fee notice will be automatically generated, allowing applicants to avail the 25 percent rebate if paid by March 31.

Applicants may opt to pay pro-rata open space charges at the time of building permission, in which case they will not be eligible for the rebate, the HMDA officials said.
