LS polls: CM Revanth dares KCR, KTR to win single seat; accuses BJP of toppling governments
Revanth Reddy ridiculed that the BRS is not currently receiving any positive updates on the parliamentary elections
By Sistla Dakshina Murthy Published on 28 Feb 2024 3:39 AM GMTHyderabad: Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy has dared BRS working president KT Rama Rao (KTR) and former chief minister K Chandrashekhar Rao (KCR) to win at least one seat in the forthcoming Lok Sabha elections.
āThe chief minister post was not an inam. I faced a lot of struggles as a party activist and spent a harrowing time in the Charallapalle prison during the BRS regime. I havenāt come to power chanting my fatherās name unlike KTRā, said Revanth Reddy while addressing a Jana Jathara public meeting at Chevella in Ranga Reddy district.
Taking potshots at the BRS for carrying out malicious propaganda on the Congress government, the chief minister claimed that the BRS was unable to stand the "good work" that the Congress government was doing and that shortly after taking office, his government had filled 25,000 positions and will fill the remaining 2 lakh positions as promised before the elections.
The chief minister also accused the BRS of its attempts to overthrow the Congress government and said that the mega DSC notification will be released soon as well. "Nobody can touch the chief minister's seat as long as Congress workers continue to support me," Revanth Reddy said, adding Congress cadre will easily take care of KCR, KTR, and their social media armies which are extensively spitting venom on the government.
Revanth Reddy ridiculed that the BRS is not currently receiving any positive updates on the parliamentary elections. Most forecasts are in the range of seats. āIn most constituencies, the party appears to be having difficulty finding candidates due to the recent defections. The BRS will undoubtedly be fighting for its life in this parliamentary election,ā he said.
Retaliating against BJP leaders who had boasted about the Gujarat model, the chief minister said that the concept was all about toppling governments that were elected democratically. In addition to threatening opposition leaders with ED, CBI, and other cases, he said that the Gujarat model fosters communal divide between people and splits political parties.
āI will assume responsibility for guaranteeing the victory of all Congress leaders who meet the eligibility requirements in the MPTC, ZPTC, MPP, and sarpanch elections,ā the chief minister said. He alleged that there was an unofficial agreement between the BJP and BRS, criticizing the party for its opportunistic politics. He claimed that although the leaders of both parties were staging theatrics, Telangana people would not be duped by their sleazy tactics.
