Hyderabad: On Monday, the Telangana High Court asked for specific allegations against IAS and IPS officers accused of helping BRS minister and MLA V Srinivas Goud in tampering with his election affidavit, through which he allegedly could suppress and conceal information about him while filing the nomination.

Srinivas Goud is contesting in the ensuing State Assembly elections from the Mahabubnagar Assembly constituency.

A Division Bench, comprising Chief Justice Alok Aradhe and Justice NV Shravan Kumar, was hearing the petition by Chaluvagali Raghavendra Raju, who raised objections to the nomination filed by Srinivas Goud. The court asked him to make ā€˜specific allegationsā€™ against the IAS and IPS officers as part of his arguments against Goud.

On Monday, Chaluvagali Raghavendra Raju filed an interim application in the High Court impleading all such AIS officers and other officers on election duty to the writ petition but did not make any specific allegation against them.

CJ Alok Aradhe, while going through the interim application, said ā€œYou need to make specific allegations against the AIS officers. Merely impleading them by name would not make any sense. You will have to inform the court as to what the officers have done. Prima Facie, there has to be an averment against the officers. You cannot simply say that they are corrupt.ā€

After saying so, the Chief Justice Bench adjourned the writ petition filed by Chaluvagali Raghavendra Raju, who sought a direction to the ECI, chief electoral officer of Telangana to transfer IAS and IPS including concerned officials involved in tampering with the affidavit of V Srinivas Goud. The case was adjourned to November 23.
