Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka is new Deputy Chief Minister of Telangana
Bhatti Vikramarka won from Scheduled Castes (SC)-reserved Madhira constituency in Khammam

The 62-year-old leader has been one of the most prominent faces of the Congress in Telangana.
Bhatti Vikramarka won from Scheduled Castes (SC)-reserved Madhira constituency in Khammam.
Born in Snanala Laxmipuram in Wyra Mandal, Khammam district, Bhatti did his Graduation from Nizam College, Hyderabad, and post-graduation from the University of Hyderabad. A member of the Pradesh Congress Committee executive committee from 1990 to 1992, Bhatti Vikramarka became an MLC in undivided Andhra Pradesh in 2007.
In 2009, he was for the first time elected as MLA and then became the Chief Whip.
In June 2011, Bhatti was elected as Deputy Speaker of the Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly.
He also served as the Deputy Speaker of AP Legislative Assembly Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly from 2011 to 2014.
In 2014, he was again elected as an MLA in the General Elections from Madhira Constituency and elected for the third time in 2018.
After Bodepudi Venkateswar Rao, he is the second person to score a hat trick as an MLA from Madhira Constituency.
In January 2019, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi appointed Bhatti Vikramarka as the leader of the Congress Legislature Party (CLP) in the second Telangana Assembly.
Key role in People's March:
Bhatti's padayatra also known as the "Peopleās Marchā across Telangana covered over 1,400 km through 36 Assembly constituencies from March to June.
It began on March 16 in Pipri village in Adilabad district, as part of the Haath Se Haath Bharat Jodo Abhiyan, and then was named as āPeopleās Marchā.
This padayatra was an extension of Rahul Gandhiās cross-country Bharat Jodo Yatra which had passed through Telangana. He was the only Congress leader who completed that yatra. Though he was ill, he completed the yatra after his recovery.
During his padayatra, Bhatti Vikramarka visited the Ada project in Asifabad and coal mines in Bellampalli, Chennur constituency where he assured coal mine workers that the Singareni Collieries Company weakened under BRS rule would be brought back to its former glory once the Congress Party comes to power. He was one of the leaders who kept the pressure on the government constantly exposing the ādeficiencies in the Dharani portalā.
During his rallies, Bhatti spoke on irrigation projects including the Kaleshwaram project.
Talking to mediapersons after swearing in ceremony on LB Stadium, here on Thursday, he said people gave an amazing and historic verdict in favour of Congress with a wish for unveiling a people's government and democratic rule.
"This day is auspicious to people of Telangana as the Dorala palana came to an end paving the way for the Indiramma rajyam. We will all together workhard to develop the state", said the deputy CM Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka.
"We will be committed to fulfill the aspirations of people in the state of Telangana given by Sonimma. Congress party's six guarantees are result of my long padayatra during which I had seen and heard of public woes", he added.
Bhatti said the six guarantees are meant to distribute the public wealth among public. "We will fulfill the dreams of women and the unemployed and homeless families", he said.
Congress government would begin it's journey keeping in mind that rulers and bureaucrats are servants of people, he said.
