By Sri Lakshmi Muttevi Published on 27 Sep 2023 12:58 PM GMTHyderabad: Marri Rajasekhar Reddy, son-in-law of Labour Minister Ch Malla Reddy, is likely to get a BRS ticket from the Malkajgiri Assembly constituency in the upcoming Telangana elections.
The BRS party is yet to make an announcement officially.
Currently, Rajasekhar is the party's in-charge in Malkajgiri constituency. On Thursday, he was part of the Bharosa rally from Anand Bagh in Malkajgiri. Malla Reddy and other party cadres came in support for Rajasekhar Reddy.
In the 2019 General Election, Rajasekhar Reddy contested unsuccessfully from the Malkajgiri Lok Sabha segment, which was won by the present TPCC president A Revanth Reddy. Marri Rajasekhar Reddy is a founder of Arundathi Hospitals located in Gandimaisamma, near Dundigal, in Hyderabad. The hospital offers free treatment to everyone.
It may be noted that the current MLA, Mynampally Hanumanth Rao despite being named in the list of 115 candidates by Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao, quit the BRS. He had a conflict with Finance and Health Minister T Harish Rao, blaming the latter for the leadership not allotting the Medak ticket to his son Rohit. Hanumanth Rao wanted a Medak ticket for his son Rohit.
Speaking to NewsMeter, Rajasekhar Reddy said, "BRS party has done many welfare schemes, and the party has good people strength in the constituency. We will definitely win in the coming elections. This time also people will see KCR as the chief minister."
