Hyderabad: CM Revanth Reddy with business leaders in Tokyo

Tokyo: On his official visit to Tokyo, chief minister A Revanth Reddy met with the senior leadership of Marubeni Corporation and discussed setting up an industrial park in 600 acres with an initial investment of Rs 1,000 crores.

Marubeni Corporation is a prominent Japanese multinational with a diverse global footprint across sectors such as energy, infrastructure, transport, real estate, healthcare, trading, and more.

Aiming for 30,000 jobs

The industrial park will focus on developing sectors such as electronics, green pharma, precision engineering, aerospace and defence. The initiative is projected to generate around 30,000 direct and indirect jobs, enhancing local employment and skill development.

Following productive discussions, Marubeni expressed a strong interest in establishing a world-class, next-generation industrial park in Telangana’s upcoming ā€˜Future City’. A Letter of Intent (LoI) was formally signed and exchanged with the Telangana government, supported by a detailed investment proposal from Marubeni.

The industrial park will be a nodal point for manufacturing operations

The industrial park will be developed in phases and will serve as a dedicated zone for Japanese and global companies to set up manufacturing operations in Hyderabad, with the potential to attract over Rs 5,000 crore in total investments.

The Marubeni Industrial Park will focus on high-growth sectors such as electronics, Green Pharma, Precision Engineering, Aerospace, and Defence—key areas aligned with Telangana’s strategy to attract foreign investment and foster advanced manufacturing.

ā€˜Telangana is top choice for global investors’

ā€œThis industrial park will be one of the first major developments in India’s first Net Zero city. We are committed to providing Marubeni with full support and ensuring a seamless business experience in Telangana. Our historical ties with Japan make this partnership even more meaningful,ā€ said CM Revanth Reddy, welcoming Marubeni to the Future City.

He added, ā€œTelangana continues to be a top choice for global investors, thanks to our progressive policies, strong infrastructure and focus on innovation. This partnership with Marubeni reinforces our status as a premier destination for advanced manufacturing.ā€

Marubeni’s executive officer and COO of Next Generation Business, Dai Sakakura, expressed optimism about the collaboration: ā€œWe are inspired by chief minister Revanth Reddy’s vision for Telangana and are eager to explore early opportunities in the Future City.ā€
