Masab Tank drugs case: Police hunt for Actress Rakul Preet Singh’s brother Aman Preet Singh

Hyderabad: The investigation into the high-profile Masab Tank drugs case has entered a crucial phase, with police intensifying efforts to trace Aman Preet Singh, who is currently absconding.

Aman is the brother of popular film actress Rakul Preet Singh and has been identified as a consumer in multiple drug-related cases.

Breakthrough after arrest of drug traders

The case took a decisive turn following the arrest of two Troop Bazaar-based businessmen, Nitin Singhania and Sranik Singhvil, near Masab Tank on December 19.

During interrogation, the accused revealed that they were supplying narcotics to at least four regular customers, one of whom was Aman Preet Singh.

Cocaine and MDMA seized

Police seized 43 grams of cocaine and MDMA from the arrested traders. Based on material evidence and statements, investigators confirmed that Aman Preet Singh had been purchasing drugs from the duo on a regular basis.

EAGLE team steps up search

Special teams from the EAGLE (Elite Action Group for Drug Law Enforcement) unit, along with Masab Tank police, have launched a coordinated manhunt to trace the absconding accused. Raids are being conducted at multiple locations, and technical surveillance has been intensified.

Linked to earlier drugs case

Police sources revealed that Aman Preet Singh was also named as an accused in an earlier drugs case registered by the Cyberabad Police, including one at Narsingi. With his involvement now surfacing in a second case, investigators believe he has been consistently involved as a drug consumer.

Official confirmation by police

West Zone Deputy Commissioner of Police Chintamaneni Srinivas confirmed that Aman Preet Singh is an accused in two separate drugs cases.

“He has been identified as a consumer. Along with him, a few other suspects are also absconding. All efforts are being made to apprehend them at the earliest,” the DCP said.

Heightened vigil ahead of New Year

With New Year celebrations approaching, police have intensified anti-drug operations across Hyderabad. The EAGLE team has increased checks, surveillance, and enforcement drives at key locations to curb drug circulation and prevent abuse during festivities.

Police officials also said that further arrests are likely as the investigation progresses and more leads are verified.
