Modi to address first meeting of BJP, TDP, Janasena at Chilakaluripet on Mar 17
Naidu claiming that the three alliance parties are moving on a progressive path
By Sri Lakshmi Muttevi Published on 14 March 2024 1:49 AM GMTAmaravati: Post alliance with TDP and Jenasena, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be addressing a joint rally of NDA partners at Chilakaluripet in Palnadu district on March 17.
This is the first time in a decade that Modi, Naidu, and Pawan Kalyan will be sharing the stage. For the first time, three parties are contesting the polls together. Back in 2014, TDP and BJP fought the polls together, however Janasena was their outside ally.
On Wednesday, TDP supremo Chandrababu Naidu addressed the media claiming that the three alliance parties are moving on a progressive path.
"We broke up in 2018 because the Centre failed to give Andhra Pradesh special category status. It is an issue which is close to my heart. Other than that, I have had no differences with BJP," said Naidu about his alliance.
"Why does YSRCP worry about our seat-sharing between us? Our major goal is to dethrone Jagan from the state. For rebuilding the state which is in deep distress and to reconstruct the state, we need the cooperation of the Centre," said Naidu speaking about his alliance with the NDA.
A few days ago, TDP and Janasena finalized their seat-sharing formula for the Lok Sabha and Andhra polls. BJP will contest six Lok Sabha (LS) and 10 Legislative Assembly (LA) seats. Janasena will contest 2 LS and 21 LA seats, while TDP will field candidates in 17 parliamentary and 144 assembly constituencies.
Chandrababu expressed confidence that the alliance is going to create a sort of new trend in the State and said that the change of guard in the State is certain. He asked the youth should now come onto the roads for their future and said that illegal cases are being foisted against every individual in the State.
"No doubt, some leaders could not get the chance to contest in these elections due to the alliance, but I promise proper recognition will be given to them once we come to power," he added.
The BJP and TDP relations go way back when we fought polls together. TDP joined NDA in 1996 and has worked together successfully in Atal Bihari Vajpayee and Narendra Modi governments. In 2014, the TDP and the BJP fought the Lok Sabha and assembly elections together. The JSP gave its support during the 2014 general and assembly elections in Andhra Pradesh.
Earlier, Naidu launched the kalalakurekkalu.com website after the Kalalaku Rekkalu program was launched by his wife Nara Bhuvaneswari on International Women's Day. This is a scheme aimed at enhancing the employment skills of women. Naidu also promised an interest-free loan facility for female students to pursue their studies. So far, 12000 students have registered on the portal.
