2 dead, 29 injured as APSRTC bus falls 100 feet off Paderu ghat road in Alluri district

The incident happened when the APSRTC bus carrying around 36 passengers was travelling from Chodavaram to Paderu.

Multiple casualities feared die as APSRTC bus falls 100 feet off Paderu ghat road in Alluri district

ASR: At least two persons have died, and 29 were injured when an APSRTC bus fell into a 100-feet deep valley near Paderu ghat road in Alluri Sitarama Raju district on Sunday, at around 3 pm.

The two deceased are identified as Narava Narayanamma (55) of Sabbavaram, and Sisa Kondanna (53) of Barsingi.

The incident happened when the APSRTC bus carrying around 36 passengers was travelling from Chodavaram to Paderu. According to the Paderu police, the incident happened at around 3-3.30 pm, the bus driver near the Paderu ghat road viewpoint, tried negotiating a steep curve, lost control and fell into the valley.

The bus directly fell into the deep valley and got stuck between the bushes.

Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy announced an ex-gratia of Rs 10 lakh to the families of the deceased, and an ex-gratia of Rs 5 lakh to those with permanent disabilities and Rs 1 lakh rupees to those injured.



The accident occurred a few kilometres from Modakondamma Padalu. As the incident happened in the agency area, it took some time for the officials to get information. Many officials have reached the spot and started conducting rescue operations.


The injured are being shifted to a nearby hospital. State Industries Minister Gudivada Amarnath inspected the site on Sunday evening. He visited the hospital where the injured were being treated. He advised to shift a few patients to KGH or corporate hospitals if necessary.

Chief Minister YS Jagan expressed grief over the bus accident in Alluri Seetharamaraju district. He gave orders to Alluri, Anakapalli, and Visakhapatnam district collectors to provide immediate medical services to the injured in good hospitals.
