Munugode by-poll to be held on Nov 3; result on Nov 6
The by-election was necessitated after the resignation of MLA Komatireddy Rajagopal Reddy on August 8. He resigned from Congress and joined the BJP.

The by-election was necessitated after the resignation of MLA Komatireddy Rajagopal Reddy on August 8. He resigned from Congress and joined the BJP.
The last date for filing nominations will be 14 October. The nominations will be scrutinized on 15 October. The last date for withdrawal of candidatures is 17 October.
The result will be declared on 6 November. The ECI has also directed that all the election procedures should be completed before 8 November.
Indian National Congress on 9 September approved the candidature of Palvai Sravanthi for the Munugode. TRS and BJP are yet to announce their candidates for the by-poll.
Munugode is part of the Bhongir Lok Sabha Parliamentary constituency in the Nalgonda district. The constituency has 2,00,956 voters including 1,02,801 males and 98,146 females. In the 2018 Telangana elections, Munugode recorded a voter turnout of 91.07%. In 2014, the turnout was 82.14%.
In the 2018 election, Congress candidate Komatireddy Rajgopal Reddy defeated TRS candidate Koosakuntla Prabhakar Reddy. Rajgopal Reddy (INC) got 97,239 votes (48.90%), Koosakuntla Prabhakar Reddy (TRS) got 74,687 votes (37.56%) votes and BJP's Gangidi Manohar Reddy (BJP)12,725 votes (6.40 %).
Meanwhile, by-elections to six other assembly constituencies in India are also scheduled on 3 November. They are Andheri east in Maharashtra, Mokama and Gopalganj in Bihar, Adampur in Haryana, Gola Gokarannath in Uttar Pradesh, and Dhamnagar in Odisha.
