Munugode by-poll: TRS's Prabhakar Reddy, wife declares assets worth Rs. 11.75 Cr
The former MLA who stood second in the 2018 Legislative Assembly polls has declared assets worth Rs. 7.68 crores, while his wife Aruna Reddy Koosukuntla owns wealth worth Rs. 4.07 crores.
By Coreena Suares Published on 13 Oct 2022 12:36 PM GMTHyderabad: Former MLA and TRS candidate for the Munugode by-polls, Koosukuntla Prabhakar Reddy, was the second to file his nomination among recognised political parties, the first being BJP leader Komati Rajgopal Reddy.
Led by star campaigner and TRS working president K.T Rama Rao, the 62-year-old Koosukuntla Prabhakar Reddy submitted his affidavit before the returning officer, Munugode on 13 October.
The Munugode by-election is scheduled to be held on 3 November, and the results will be announced on 6 November.

The couple's movable properties include investments in Regenesis Industries Pvt. Ltd. and Virtue Developers Pvt. Ltd. A high stake of their movable properties (cash) is investments in two companies and the couple had lent out cash as loans. Together, the couple have declared wealth worth Rs. 11. 75 crores.
It is pertinent to note that the companies K. Prabhakar Reddy has shares in are sub-contractors of Megha Engineering & Infrastructures Limited. The project is with regard to the water supply distribution network for the peripheral circles of GHMC and the construction of RCC service reservoirs in Kukatpally and Serlingampally circles.
It is also a sub-contractor with Raghava Constructions with regard to minor irrigation projects, restoration Buniyadigani canal in Nalgonda district (now Yadadri Bhuvanagiri district).
Education
K. Prabhakar Reddy has a Bachelor of Science (1980) from Nagarjuna College, Nalgonda, Osmania University, and a Bachelor of Education (1982) from Vivek Vardhini College, Hyderabad, Osmania University.

The ruling party, Telangana Rashtra Samithi, has announced former MLA and constituency in charge Koosukuntla Prabhakar Reddy as its candidate for the by-poll. "CM KCR took this decision after examining the survey reports and opinions of local leaders, activists, district party leaders, and people of the constituency," a statement from the CMO read.
BJP, after a long wait, formally announced former Congress MLA Komatireddy Rajgopal Reddy as their candidate. The by-election was necessitated by his resignation on 8 August. He quit the Congress party and joined the BJP.
Congress announced the candidature of Palvai Sravanthi, and BSP, led by former IPS officer and state president R.S Praveen Kumar, announced Shankara Chari as their candidate. Shankara Chari belongs to the BC community.
Munugode is part of the Bhongir Lok Sabha parliamentary constituency in the Nalgonda district. The constituency has 2,00,956 voters, including 1,02,801 male voters and 98,146 female voters.
In the 2018 election, Congress candidate Komatireddy Rajgopal Reddy defeated TRS candidate Koosakuntla Prabhakar Reddy. Rajgopal Reddy got 97,239 votes (48.90%), Koosakuntla Prabhakar Reddy got 74,687 votes (37.56%) votes, and BJP's Gangidi Manohar Reddy secured 12,725 votes (6.40%).
