Naidu gives 21 acres of land at 99 Paisa for Cognizant in Vizag

Visakhapatnam: Cognizant Technology Solutions is set to invest Rs 1,582.98 crore to establish a cutting-edge IT and IT-enabled services (ITES) campus in Visakhapatnam.

The project is projected to generate 8,000 jobs, offering a significant boost to employment and the local economy.

The proposed campus will come up on 21.31 acres of land in Kapuluppada, under the jurisdiction of the Visakhapatnam Metropolitan Region Development Authority (VMRDA).

In a move aimed at attracting investment, the Andhra Pradesh government will allot the land at a highly concessional rate of just 99 paisa per acre.

This initiative is being widely viewed as a strategic win for Minister for IT and Industries Nara Lokesh, who has been actively working to promote the state as a prime destination for tech investment.

Timeline and Commitment

Cognizant plans to begin commercial operations by March 2029, with the entire project being fully self-financed by the company. This demonstrates Cognizant’s long-term commitment to Andhra Pradesh and its belief in the state’s potential as a technology powerhouse.
